Barney, Zorro & Max

BARNEY, ZORRO & MAX

Hello there everyone, my name is Barney and I just wanted to tell you all about me and my brothers and our very happy ending.

We were very lucky when we arrived at Animal Care and were only there for a couple of weeks before our new mum and dad decided to take us home with them.  We love it there.  We have a great cage which is always clean and tidy.   We want for nothing at all.  Mum makes sure we have lots of food, especially our favourites, bread sticks and sunflower seeds, and a nice tub of sand so we can have a roll around in it.  She also makes sure we have a good supply of chewing materials.  It’s totally fab!!!

My big brother Mad Max, so called because he’s mad and could do with losing a few pounds, loves the sunflower seeds and is forever trying to destroy our ladders.  It’s mad really because they are indestructible, even for a gerbil!!!  My favourite thing is kicking all the sawdust and paper around and generally making a complete mess of our home.  It’s great fun although mum does sometimes despair with me because of all the mess I make. Zorro is our little brother.  He’s the quiet one and loves to collect paper for our bed every day.  He also really loves chewing all the cardboard that is put in our cage.  He’s quite a little softy as well and likes to get cuddles from our mum and dad.  Me and Max are far too tough for all that cuddling rubbish.

But the best thing of all about being in our new home is the playtimes we get to have.  Every day we get to go into the ‘spare room’ and have a good run around.  It’s great to be able to stretch our little legs every day.  We all absolutely love it.   We are out for a couple of hours every day and sometimes that’s not even enough time.  Mum has made us 2 huge boxes which we run in and out of.  But mainly we just chase each other around the room again and again and again and again.  Well you get the picture, don’t you!!!  We do get shouted at from time to time especially if we go near any wires, that’s when we hear the words ‘stop it, do you want to fry’ or near the pipes on the radiators.  Mum and dad have now ‘gerbil-proofed’ the room so we are safe but we all still like to find trouble and normally do!!!

Thank you Animal Care for finding us the bestest home in the whole wide world.  We really are 3 of the luckiest gerbils ever.

Love from Barney, Max and Zorro xxx
