Fundraising
As a charity we rely on public donations, fundraising income, animal adoption donations and legacies and as the number of charities increase sadly the ‘pot’ of money available doesn’t so there are now more than ever a huge number of very good causes desperately trying to prove why their charity deserves a share of the cash. So that is why we are always looking at ways to help increase our income on a regular basis so we know how much money is coming in each month.
This then allows us to plan for future projects rather than to just worrying about raising enough money each month to pay the bills.
The year 2004-2005 brought us £165,000 in income but our expenses were £200,000 and 2005-2006 was £258,000 in income and £297,000 in expenses this is usually the case each year as it is in most animal welfare groups. We do budget and watch how every penny is spent but it is an ongoing struggle to balance the books whilst not compromising on the care of the animals.
